A rising number of universities are adopting mobile app platforms in order to engage students through mobile apps
Fremont, CA: Mobile apps are currently used by a growing number of higher-ed students for communication, entertainment, academics, banking, commuting, and other purposes. Although most colleges attempt to design mobile apps that go beyond traditional approaches, they fail to consider student involvement. Their techniques are solely focused on meeting the needs of students. This disconnect between meeting students' needs and engaging them leads to a lack of long-term student participation.
Millennials are increasingly embracing smartphones and tablets, which has led to the adoption of mobile campus solutions by several universities around the world. According to researchers, developing campus apps that aren't connected with student engagement objectives isn't worth an institution's time or money. When all of the components of an institution's mobile apps are combined, they can engage students, boost student participation, and improve overall academic achievement.
The features that student engagement mobile apps must have:
User-friendly interface
All of the student engagement apps have an intuitive and user-friendly layout that allows students to access key resources quickly.
Easy integration
The backend systems should allow seamless interaction with the institution's SIS and LMS to pull essential data and show it to students.
Student engagement
The user interface and symbols make life easier for students. Push notifications, one-tap attendance input, a student dashboard with all changes, chat capabilities, campus safety, and one-click access to numerous applications all help students engage and participate.
Quality experience
some apps offer a one-stop answer to a variety of student difficulties, in addition to making student life on campus easier. They may look up assignments, grades, calendars, headlines, and maps, as well as find out about future events and other crucial school information.
Branding and customization
Every organization has its own color scheme and logo, which it likes to include in its mobile app. Prebuilt themes are available in the apps, allowing users to alter apps to match the institution's branding. Institutions can design an app without writing a single line of code by selecting colors, themes, icons, and modules that support their institution's image.
