Students can interact and complete coursework using cloud computing just as they would on a single computer. This procedure is efficient, but it also saves time and enhances student quality. Cloud computing has benefited colleges, institutes, and schools.
FREMONT, CA: The past year has been difficult for educators, but the good news is that we've discovered solutions that will continue to improve learning effectiveness—regardless of whether schools operate in-person, hybrid, or remotely. This year, more K-12 and higher education institutions embraced Cloud solutions to understand better and support student success while affordably expanding access to learning and support.
Real-time insights into student success
Google Cloud tools enable organizations to make sense of billions of data sets originating from hundreds of disparate data systems. Google Cloud Student Success Services can assist schools at all academic levels in enhancing the student experience from enrollment to graduation.
For instance, Mesquite Independent School District (ISD) in Texas has a lofty goal of meeting the unique needs of each student. To accomplish this, they desired a better understanding of their students, which necessitated cross-referencing thousands of different types of data from various sources. They were able to pull data from their learning management system, Student Information System, Google Workspace, survey data, and direct input from students and teachers, among other sources, using Student Success Services. They quickly pulled data and generated insights using the Google Cloud tool BigQuery to serve their students' unique needs better.
Access to education and assistance
Virtualization tools and virtual agents are two robust tools that facilitate students and faculty to access resources from any location and at any time, even when physical campuses are closed or access is restricted.
Virtual desktops enable students, teachers, and researchers to access necessary equipment even when they cannot be physically present. For instance, students can run high-performance applications such as Photoshop and AutoCAD natively on Chromebooks via Google Cloud virtual labs.
Additionally, numerous organizations utilize virtual agents to provide additional support to their communities by incorporating support assistants into their websites. For example, the Upper Grand District School Board in Canada shifted to an online learning program last year like the majority of schools. Upper Grand acquired an unprecedented number of requests from families and students unfamiliar with distant education seeking accurate information and directions. The administration of the schools was required to handle technical inquiries manually, and limited staff availability resulted in longer response times.
